Weathershield Car Cover

Weathershield Car Cover

If you’re considering a WeatherShield car cover, then here at Car Cover Reviews, we think you’ll be happy to hear that there has been a recent advancement in the version of the fabrics used.

It is now called WeatherShield HP and uses the patented encapsulation process by Nextec, called EPIC.  The technology for this process controls the polymer placement to fully upgrade the fabrics to an ultra-thin, smooth and silky finish that simply glides overtop of the car’s finish.  It utilizes up to forty different computerized controls to its process in order to allow the polymers to be embedded within the fabric so that it sheds moisture while blocking dust, pollution, sap, bird droppings, and other harmful substances.

The WeatherShield car cover also combines this technology with an environmentally friendly finishing process (kudos from us at Car Cover Reviews) that allows it to be high performing while releasing significantly lower CO2 emissions.  After this weaving process, the polyamide fibers will also not need to be dyed as the color is already infused into the product.

This also means that less energy and water will be required for the process, and the typical wastewater byproduct will be dramatically reduced when compared to the usual process of dying the fabric.

In fact, for every thousand yards of the fabric, one thousand gallons of water are saved.  Since the color is in the fabric and not on the surface, it also means that the cover will be just as effective, but also resistant to fading and is machine washable.

Weathershield Car Cover - Sheds Water Effortlessly

The fabric is also very slim and lightweight, making it easy fold and to store.  When in use, it is weatherproof, rapidly shedding water and resisting ultraviolet radiation.  When it has become wet, it dries exceptionally quickly due to its water shedding and the fact that it absorbs only 2 percent of water (when compared with the typical 40 percent of fabrics both woven and non woven).

Therefore, if a WeatherShield car cover has been lying out in the rain, it needs only to be shaken to release the water and any remaining moisture will quickly dry – even from within the trunk of a car.  This technology means that the cover is very breathable so that water will not remain trapped between itself and the surface of the car. Here at Car Cover Reviews, we give this feature two thumbs up.

Even with all of these features, the fabric of a WeatherShield car cover is very durable and will not break down as a result to exposure to hot or cold; nor will there be a breakdown of the encapsulation process throughout the lifetime of the fabric.

All of these features make a WeatherShield car cover very easy to care for, fold, store, and use.  From washing it and drying it in the machine to tucking it away in the trunk of the car – even as it dries – it will provide many years of high-performance protection without any concerns over wear or reduced performance. We here at Car Cover Reviews say that Weathershield car covers are definitely worth your consideration.
